Hailing from Minnesota, Sam joined the Krauzlis lab after working on diverse projects ranging from frog transgenics to spike sorting for a brain machine interface; he is now examining the role of the superior colliculus in making eye-movement decisions. Outside of the lab, Sam can be seen shredding the curl of La Jolla Shores, Black's Beach and Cardiff, rocking out at local venues and music festivals, or camping in the most exotic locations he can afford.
